Donald Trump Found Guilty …

Preface note: This is NOT one of my “devotional” posts based on the day’s Bible readings. This is an exercise in “free speech”, a provision in the US Constitution’s First Amendment. I plan to not make any further comments on yesterday’s verdict. I have many, more important things to spend my time and effort on.

Guilty of which law specifically that elevated an expired statute of limitations misdemeanor to a felony? To elevate a misdemeanor to a felony there had to be a secondary crime, but no one can tell you specifically which crime the jury was to use in their deliberations. Not even the Prosecution specified the secondary crime. The judge said, pick one of these three options and if everyone on the jury agrees to any combination of the three options, we have a unanimous decision.

Facts to be considered:
– The hand-selected Judge was compromised and should have recused himself for donating to POTUS Biden and his daughter has raised loads of money for the Democrat Party because of this trial.
– The fifty-five jury page instruction was handed to the jury in spoken form (not written form).
– The DA ran on a platform of “Get Trump” (not “get all the lawbreakers”). “Give me the man, and I’ll find the crime” is not an American legal principle. Or it used to not be.
– The trial was held in a hostile environment where 85% or so of the voters voted for POTUS Biden. It should have been moved to a less partisan venue.
– The DA was a DISTRICT attorney and the Court was a STATE court, neither of which has jurisdiction over FEDERAL crimes.
– The former FEC chairman was prohibited by the judge from presenting FEC election law, which would have demonstrated that no FEC laws were broken.
– The “star witness” is a convicted, serial GLOAT (greatest liar of all time)
– The prosecution never linked Trump to the conspiracy which Cohen repeatedly told multiple people was of his own doing. Not only was the “star witness” a serial liar, but an admitted thief.
– Paying “hush money” in an NDA is commonplace for rich people. NDAs are not illegal. The judge allowed Stormy Daniels to elaborate on her alleged affair with DJT, which had nothing to do with any of the charges alleged.

No honest person who paid attention to it could call this a “fair” trial. If the defendant’s last name was anything but Trump, this trial would have never been prosecuted. Trump Derangement Syndrome is real. And many Americans are severely infected by TDS, which at its root is simply blind hate.

For the record, I personally don’t like Donald Trump. His behavior is beyond reprehensible. His attitude is arrogant and narcissistic. He is a serial adulterer with misogynistic tendencies.

Voters are given a difficult choice in this year’s Presidential Election. I said eight years ago that both of the candidates are flawed individuals. The same is true this year.

This is a sad time in America. But the bottom line is, no one in the White House is in control of everything that goes on in this country. Neither is anyone in Congress. Nor on the Supreme Court. God is the one in control. (Daniel 2:21) God knows what He’s doing. And God’s ways and purposes are higher than ours. (Isaiah 55:9)

Christians, rise up and kneel down.
Join me in praying for our nation.

We are not involved in a mere political contest. This is an all-out spiritual war! We must fight this war with spiritual weapons. (2 Corinthians 10:3-5) Don’t make this personal. As much as many would want to do, do not let this divide you and your family. And do not let this divide you and your church. Pray for your church. Pray for your friends. Pray for your neighbors.

And pray for your pastor to not be distracted by the cacophony of social media and news media. We have more important responsibilities to attend to. (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 6:4)

If Calvin was right, I would say that our nation is under God’s judgment.

One Comment

  1. Some outstanding commentary, Craig.

Thank you for reviewing the essential facts for the Christian community. We know that we are to be in the world, yet not of it, but too many believers have defined that as being ignorant of the world and, therefore, completely unable to connect the dots between the clear teaching of the Bible and the views and courses of action we should take to be on right ground with God.
